An exploration into The Eye's Castle by Christopher Le Brun, and it's position in contemporary art. The Eye’s Castle[Figure 1] is an oil painting displayed in the Fitzwilliam Museum and Gallery, Cambridge. It was made between 1996 and 2006 by Christopher Le Brun, a British artist, born in 1951. The majority of the  painting has darker, duller colouring, except for the bright orange flames and some of the sky. The way in which this was done gives a more dramatic, dark atmosphere. In the foreground, there appears to be a knight  on his horse, riding away from the flames. The way that the horse is posed makes it look calm in comparison to
